Love your North Denver neighborhood? Shop locally

December 8, 2008

NORTH DENVER – If we love the color our local stores bring to our streets, we must spend some of our holiday dollars in our local stores. To sweeten the local shopping deals, Tennyson Street is holding a Jingle and Mingle to lure shoppers out into these neighborhood stores on Wednesday, December 10 and again on Saturday, December 20. Shoppers will be serenaded with Christmas carolers and children will have an opportunity to have their pictures taken with Santa.
And while the shops will have entertainment for shoppers, residents also have the opportunity to donate items for children who attend the Tennyson Center for Children. Residents are asked to bring unwrapped, unopened toys for donation. No toy weapons please.
While gathering with family and friends should require no gifts, ‘tis the season for giving and so if one is going to shop, for the good of the neighborhood, consider shopping locally for some of the unique gifts this holiday season.
With North Denver stores loaded up with home decor, jewelry, pet supplies, and tools, we snapped up photos of some of the cool things we saw at the shops that advertise with the Tribune. Look for their advertisements throughout the pages for their addresses and phone numbers. Shop local to keep these locally owned stores on our streets.
